"Backhand King" -Taufix Hidayat-

This is my last post on this blog, so I will introduce my favorite Badminton player now. This is Taufix Hidayat from Indonesia and he is 41 years old. He is a singles player. He is a one of the great players. His greatest characteristic is his backhand. He is called the "Backhand King" by funs all over the world. He became an athlete who won the Olympic and World Championship titles. He is an Indonesian hero who won the 2004 Athens Olympics. He is a popular player among badminton fans in Japan. He retired as a professional athlete after the Indonesian Open in 2013. He is famous as a player that use a backhand. 

In various game developments, he uses his backhand to defeat other players. Other players use their forehands more, but he uses the backhand more. Also his backhand is attractive. He can freely return to the court with his backhand, so it is always a threat. Especially his backhand smash is amazing. In general, backhand shots are weaker than forehand shots. But in his case, he is strong enough to score points even from a backhand. He is a genius game maker who has fascinated many funs. His delicate net play, fast smash and backhand have gone down in badminton history. 

Indonesian Super idol ~Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo~

This is Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo from Indonesia and he is 27 years old. He is a doubles player. His best record world ranking is number one. He won at the most world tournaments from 2018 to 2020. Sukamuljo climbed to 1st in the world ranking with great vigor after the Rio Olympics. After that he became super idol of the Badminton Superpower Indonesia. In spite of his short stature, he defeat tall players. So He is called "Minions" by fans all over the world. This nickname shows the his dynamic play and personal magnetism.  

His greatest characteristics is play with a lot of feints and wrist flexibility. His skillful touch speed follows an unpredictable course. He creates a game with speedy developments. He is the best front player in badminton history. A lot of badminton fans will be fascinated by his play and magic shots. I think no one can stop his magic shot. He uses feints in various situations. I'm always surprised when I watch him play. Also, not only the feints but also his smash is wonderful. His wrist flexibility and jumping power bring out the best in his smash. I think he is a "doubles super idol" in the badminton world!

Badminton Legend Player -Lee Chong Wei-

This is Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia and he is 40 years old. He was selected as a member of the Malaysian National Team when he was 17 years old. He has many achievements and history in the badminton world. His greatest characteristic is his splendid footwork and overwhelming power. Especially his splendid footwork is like an art! He has a great shot, defense and precise control. His attractive point is his diving reception in the game. With other players, the return afterwards is slow. But he can return very quickly. So he is free from faults in his technique and his body. In the Olympics in 2016, he lost in the final, but many fans were fascinated by his play. 

He also has a great smash. He is not tall. Why is his smash so fast? This is because his strong body and smash courses bring out the best in his smash. He has a very good attack and defense. He continues to rally, reduce opponent's stamina and score a point. I like his style of play. He was ranked number one in the world from 2008 to 2012. Now he retired from the game. I think he is a player who has left a wonderful history in the badminton world.

Tall Monster -Viktor Axelsen-

This is Viktor AXELSEN from Danish Odense and he is 28 years old.  He is 194cm tall and right handed. I will introduce his achievements. He won the  world Junior Badminton Championship in 2010. He won the 2016 and 2018 European Badminton Championships and the World Badminton Championships in 2017. And he won a gold medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. He won many titles from 2010. His strength is his height. The smash that he makes from his height is just like a bullet. 

His smash speed is 419 km. However he is not just good at the smash. He breaks his opponent with his technique in front of the net. Also he has become stronger mentally. He grew up thanks to many practiced and played many games. His greatest characteristic are his smash like a bullet, his fast footwork and his powerful body. He attracted many funs with his smash and stability style of play. He is now number one in the world rankings. I think that he winning Tokyo Olympics gave him the most confidence. There he became world champion. He will continue to produce a good result in the future. I think he is like "a monster in the Badminton world!".

My Best Japanese Badminton Player -Kento Momota-

I will introduce the badminton player Kento Momota this time. He is a 28 years old left handed. He has played for NTT East Japan since 2013. His greatest skill is the hairpin net shot. His hairpin net shot attracted many people all over the world. He defeated many other badminton players with this technique. He can draw out this skill himself. 

His defense is tenacious because his footwork is very fast.  But he is not tall. That's why he trained his walking ability and instantaneous power through daily practice. Also he has great stamina. A long rally drains the opponent's stamina, but he doesn't run out of stamina and reacts with difficult shots.

Finally, I will talk about his control. He has accurate control in both offense and defense. Many players lose control in long rallies, but he never loses control. He defeats his opponents with accurate control and shots.

Momota won 11 international tournaments, the most ever. So he was once number one in the world rankings. He retained number one for more than 3 years. He is currently in second place. He will be number one again. It takes a lot of practice. Many people have watched him grow up.  I'm also looking forward to his future activities.
